I was pleasantly surprised by the value for money at this hotel. The prices were reasonable and the attention to detail in the rooms was impressive. The location was also a highlight, with beautiful fields surrounding the hotel and a proper pub down the road for a delightful dinner. The staff were friendly and the basic amenities were just what I needed. I particularly enjoyed the view of the tennis court from the terrace with its circular tables. And let's not forget the hearty and filling breakfast that had an excellent choice of cereals, fruit, pastries, and a fantastic menu for cooked breakfast.
All was fine, nothing to complain about.

The hotel is located in a beautiful area with stunning views. Guests can easily access a path at the back of the hotel which leads to Dovedale. There is also a lovely pub called the Dog up the hill, which comes highly recommended by the manager.
The grounds around the hotel could be better maintained, as the patio outside one of the rooms was affected by overgrowth, obstructing the view.

Great walking group experience, with well led walks and good entertainment each evening. the meals were plentiful and creatively presented. the location was fantastic with great views of the countryside and an abundance of friendly animals around nearby.
The rooms were poorly maintained, with uncomfortable beds and blisteringly hot showers making it difficult to enjoy. the floorboards also creaked loudly with every step, making it hard to sleep peacefully at night.

The breakfast was good and offered a variety of options. The hotel is located in a nice area, with plenty of walks and a nearby pub.
There were no meals available for non-group travelers and were told to go to a pub down the road. The lounge areas were always full with tour groups, so we couldn't use them.
